Sodalite glowing bright orange and yellow-orange under shortwave ultraviolet. Luminescence spectra of the green and blue fluorescing phases show peaks characteristic of uranyl activation. Note some of the sodalite has turned violet under white light (tenebrescent) and fluoresces a deeper orange color. Field width 3 cm. |
