Multi-colored fluorescent specimen under shortwave ultraviolet (left), and midwave ultraviolet (right). Tugtupite is here bright pink under SW and bluish-pink under MW. Sodalite is orange under both sources but of differing intensities. Note the band of yellow-white fluorescing polylithionite in lower right of shortwave photo, does not fluoresce under midwave ultraviolet. Luminescence spectra of the green and blue fluorescing phases show peaks characteristic of uranyl activation.
Kangerluarssuk. Field width 2.5 cm.
